Quarantine Projects-Travel Series
A few years ago I painted three panels focusing on the horizon and topographical changes, sourcing my photo archives of past road trips. I wasn’t sure what to do with them, so I put them away in the closet. When we had to cancel travel plans at the start of the quarantine, I rediscovered these panels and began to add to this new TRAVEL SERIES. It’s a departure for me, as most of my work is inspired by my own neighborhood surroundings. With these I am using the grid and the horizon to thread together many diverse landscapes from different parts of the country.
